I thoughts on getting a new vehical is what do you need it for/ what will the vehicals purpose be ?

it looks like you already have a truck that fits the need of off-road toy.

where you been? he totaled it...

Oh, I can't keep up with everyone, sorry to hear that,

In thats case, if you are looking for a project and can afford for for you vehical to be in repair for a little while I would get a TTB truck and fix it up. But I guess you are needing a vehical NOW, I would get the FX4 L2

it would definately be cool to get another ranger, they are good trucks (i bet as everyone here would agree) but i think jeeps are pretty sweet too, my uncle has a rubicon, which i know is out of your range, but a standard wrangler could be "made" into a rubicon-ish. just dont get the 4 cyl. i've heard NO good things about them, especialy w/ larger tires.

as for a car, i could understand a lil car for good gas mileage, but i personally could never go back to a car. but good look in making a decision

btw. a bronco would be a hog on gas

My poor baby... rest in peace!

Chris that's a pretty wild story! Sounds like it's all working out very well for you in the end though. I hope I can be that lucky.

My parents have taught me to always be frugal with my money. That way, when something comes around that I want, well I'll be capable of getting it. I'd always wanted an FX4 Level II since I realized they made them. My last truck was my attempt at beating Ford at their own game. Now, I feel like I've got the chance to start over where I wanted to be before I started at all!

I've been making a consistent $15/hr waiting tables all summer, and I'll be doing that all xmas break and atleast all next summer too, if not all next semester also. At that rate, any difference in the insurance settlement and cost of the truck ought to be covered. I don't ever really spend any money other than on my truck or on food/girls. That's how I managed to afford everything for my truck so young (gas, insurance, truck, mods, all on my own). So I think I'll be able to still afford this truck AND come out of school ahead.

Danno, those were my thoughts too regarding a jeep. I'd love a rubicon or something as capable, but it would just be too expensive to try and build one out of a stock jeep. New axles, gears, t-case, etc etc etc would just be alot of money. Plus, they just aren't as comfortable as riding in my Ranger!

I would say stay with the ranger. Does it have to be a FX4L2 or would you settle for another XLT or FX4?

I COULD do an XLT or FX4 or EDGE even, but I think this is my best opportunity to get what I really want.

Tommy, thanks for looking anyways! I really do appreciate it.

What do you call 'pretty beat up'? I'm just wondering what the going rate of my truck would be..

It had guite a few scratches and the fender flares and front valance were badly faded and scratched, and it was missing like 2 of the centercaps for the alcoa wheels. from what i saw it wasn't worth the money.

how come any jeep vs a ranger stock will out wheel it any time?

Im sorry but rangers are not gods gift to the earth. They are economy mini trucks, that most of us were stuck with and are trying to do the best we can with what cards we were dealt. I personally will NEVER own a ranger again. Yes it has treated me well as in reliability, but there is alt to be desired with this little girl.

I think it is funny how so many people think that their ranger is the best truck ever. Aside from prerunning, there isnt any arena where a ranger stands above the rest. sorry just my opinion...

Flame on i suppose

Sure it's not the best out there in any given field, but I (personally) feel that it's a great compromise between everything that i'm looking for in a vehicle. They're decent off-road, they are comfortable, reliable, easy to park, relatively good on gas, etc etc. It's not perfect, but it fits my needs and desires pretty well
