Ok. I just got done talking to one of our underwriters and insurance should cover this thing as long as you have full coverage. All you will have to do is pay your deductible and the truck should go into the shop. You said that the frame is straight so the cab and everything can be fixed. So from my POV it looks like this baby will be back on the road within a month if not sooner. Depends on how fast insurance wants to move.

HEY KYLE by the looks of it you might need a new cab I dont know what the insurance will do but searching the junk jards for a new whole cab might be cheaper. but just guessing at the moment the bed side is only $400 I just had to buy it at the dealer

Gil thanks alot man. Took me quite some time for it to sink in too, even as I was watching my windshield go flying across the beach that was spinning around in front of me. I can't honestly say that I'm 'upbeat' about all this... I feel like a little piece of me just died (and the rest of me got my *** kicked by some thug in a dark alley). But there's no sense in crying over spilt milk. I'm responsible, so it's time for me to take responsibility.

John thanks so much for the help. I'm really hoping nothing got bent or broken badly except for the cab so I can have my baby back.

Chris you made the point of needing to let go, and if worst comes to worst I'm ready to do that. The truck was paid off, and if we needed something extra (which I doubt my parents want to deal with), then we'd probably just pay the difference in cash and I'd pay them back. I don't have a job right now though so I'd rather not take on a payment. Plus, for the money, there's nothing else I'd rather have as a daily driver. I mean an old Bronco/CJ/F-150 would be sweet, but 15mpg was bad enough... I couldn't handle 8!

Zach you are right I'll probably get charged out the butt to get everything fixed at the ford dealer, but that's the only place I knew to take it to get fixed in Angleton where I wouldn't get ripped off by some little private shop trying to take me to the cleaners. My freakin phone died last night and I don't have my charger to see if insurance has called or not and everything, but I'm hoping to atleast get a quote at the dealer to know if it's fixable or totalled. If it's close, then I may ask a second opinion somewhere. BTW, that bedside that's beaten up is nearly torn off next to the cab... I'm gonna need a whole new bed more'n likely. I haven't ruled out trying to piece together a truck from the junkyard though.

I don't remember if I said this or not, but the officer ticketed me with "Unsafe Speed" because the speed limit on the beach is 15. He was chomping at the bit to give me reckless driving and take me to jail. What a douche. Yeah man, I just paid off my truck which i love more than any other possession I have, so I'm gonna go dicking around on the beach with it and try to flip it so you can send me to jail... exactly what I was doing.

I know. I'm going to see what all needs to be done to it first. All I can go on is what I saw with my limited knowledge and experience of knowing what to look for.

It will definitely be good to have a second opinion. GETTING the truck to your body guy (body guy? sounds kinky...) is a different story as of now

Talked with my parents today who talked with the body shop guy at Gulf Coast Ford in Angleton. It sounds like about 8 grand in repair work, all body panels and such. new cab, fenders, bed, tires. Thankfully, my truck is worth atleast $1900 more than that. So if the engine checks out ok I will be getting my truck fixed! I think it's a good time to have them hook me up with some EDGE fender flares and a few other factory goodies I didn't have before. 06 mirrors and badges perhaps? Don't know what the insurance adjuster has said yet, or if they've talked to him. My phone has died and refuses to charge anymore.

DUDE, KYLE...

I'm SO sorry to hear this happen to your truck, I just seen this thread.

That was like one of my favorite trucks & now to see it turn to a piecs of metal is just so freaky.

One min. you could have an awesome truck then the next you have something that trees will grow over one day.

But HOPEFULLY your truck can be taken care of & have back on the road in a month or so!

Brenton

Glad to hear you guys are okay. I hope that you at least got checked out by a Doc. Rollovers are known to have hidden effects on the body. You may not feel hurt but wait a few months and you will feel it. I did the same exact thing more then a year ago. Went to the doc about four days later, after some pushing from family ,and I had fractured my spine in two spots, not bad but if I wouldn't have known I could have lifted something heavy, an I could have been in a wheel chair or something. So get checked out.

When I wrecked my first Ranger I thought I was okay -- but by the next day I could hardly move. It can really fool you. Sometimes it takes several days for the inflammation from an injury to kick in. Glad you're getting checked out!

I could use a little TLC...

Andy, I thought about fiberglass and stuff, but I don't know if that's the look I want, ya know? I was thinking perhaps EDGE flares and valence instead. With the new 06 side mirrors and badges.
