Welcome to the forum

Common issue for first time manual trans drop and re-install

The shifter/transmission should have been in NEUTRAL when you removed the shifter, it wasn't, and thats the problem, but easy to fix

Remove shifter again
Look down in the hole and you will see 3 shift Rods running front to back
Each shift rod has a Slot that the shifter moves
All 3 slot must be lined up in the middle next to each other, that's NEUTRAL, i.e. shifter can be moved from side to side all the way, neutral, as it slide thru all 3 slots to chose a gear
1 3 5
2 4 R
One of the shift rod slots will NOT be in the center, use a screwdriver and push it forward or backward to line it up with the other two slots in the center
You may have to rock the truck if drive shaft is connected to release pressure on the gears so you can shift it, and BE CAREFUL you are shifting to NEUTRAL so vehicle WILL ROLL AWAY

You can see 2 of the 3 slots aligned in this picture: https://www.therangerstation.com/Mag...rbushings7.jpg
