what exactly are the ranger trims like
the edge, tremor, and xlt

what exactly is the difference and why are they named like that

sorry but no one ever told me and i never thought about it

search. lol its been discussed.

edge is like a sport package.
painted bumpers
vynl floor
and other things.

xlt is like
carpet floors
chrome bumpers
and more things.

tremor is like the edge just with a pioneer sound system from the factory. that is something like it.

i think you are special. either that or they were on the line and yours got switched when it went to get the interior installed.

Haha, I have an Edge, but with carpeting! Granted, I just installed it and placed it over the vinyl. I'm looking to swap my bumpers in time with chrome ones off of an XLT.

You got the xlt value package prob I seen those at the dealer Viynl floor and like untinted ext cab windows and untinted nonsliding rear window.

I think thats what the package is called. The dealer around me always orders trucks like that.

Whats sad with the new rangers anymore is the xlts to get a chrome bumper you have to get the chrome appearance package, and in order to get that you have to get a 3.0 at least so if you dont get that appearance package your stuck with an xlt with ugly grey grille, bumper and nonchrome 15's... Kind of ugly in my opinion.

Yep it is the Value Ranger, A realy good deal, Usually (if not always) a 4.0 and an auto, with air and a CD player. My buddy Sean bought one for 14K in 03 brand new. Was with a discount too, but I still think they were a pretty good deal even around the retail price.

I've got an XLT Sport with painted bumpers/grille with carpeting..also back in the days of the 98-00's you could only get a tach with the sport package or 4x4- so i guess I got lucky. Ford did some strange configurations..

wrong while most xlt's came with just a speedo, I have seen reg cab 4 banger xlt's with tachs It just how the truck came there was no specific order although all 4x4 definitely came with a tach. My 98 3.0 xlt ext cab did not I had to put one in.

FX4 > all other models. :biggthump

it is a value pkg, it was actually, surprisingly, the only truck they had that was exactly what i wanted. tho rear sliding window could have been a nice touch.... or 4 doors....(for another $3,000) Carpeting - which my dad wanted to get in my truck, was on alot of other rangers, and the cheapest we found on the lots with carpet were an extra $1000 more. so my truck was a perfect fit for me. as far as the cd player? well that lasted exactly 8 days in my ranger. then came my clarion mp3 player.
