pretty self explainatory.....unbolt one and bolt the other on...

 

Really easy. Just a bolt through a spacer with 4 isolators and a nut. Look at the other side to get the assembly order. You should be able to do this with the truck on its tires on level ground but it might make it a little easier to raise the drivers side of the frame slightly. This could make it easier to insert the spacer if is being stubborn.

It would be a good idea to replace the through bolt on the PS as well.

 

thanks guys, i think once i get a good look at the other side for reference and get the new parts, i should have a better idea how to do it.

rwenzing- what's the through bolt for the PS? I know PS means power steering. Thanks again -Mike-

 

I think he was referring to the passenger side

 

I was thinking that since the bolt had already broken in the driver side link, it would be a good idea to replace the passenger side bolt before it breaks.

 

i would also replace both sides now instead of waiting on it to break.......for $15 a side you shouldn't really wait...

 

Once again Ford pulls some crap with trying to charge an outrageous amount for a simple job.

This is a two-tool, 10 minute job that requires no brain power to perform. Quit asking questions and just go look at it. It's about the most basic thing on the truck, other than filling the gas tank or dropping the tail-gate.

 

i went down to the local Federated Auto Parts and bought a pair of new MOOG sway bar links. Seems pretty straight forward. I'll report back of the outcome, probably won't get to it till this weekend until i have some more time to work with it. Thanks guys for all your help! -Mike-

 

This is not Ford, it is an individual Ford DEALER. A dealer is an independent business and can charge whatever people are willing to pay for vehicles, parts or service. It always pays to shop around when buying anything from a dealer.

 

ok i finished up the job this evening and it wasn't as hard as i thought. took me about 3 hours to do, mostly i had trouble trying to get the passenger side bushings to seat properly so i had to take it apart several times, no big deal. once i had that figured out, the drivers side was a breeze. I took the truck out for a test run and it handles so much better now!, body roll is reduced bigtime!

3 HOURS for swaybar end links? Damn it should only take 10 minutes max for both. Including getting out tools and drinking a beer.
It's just one big bolt with a bushing, spacer, another bushing and a nut.
