Pull the air filter out of the box and cover the MAF, TPS, and fuse/power distribution box so as not to get them wet. The factory air box does not do a great job of keeping water out of its bottom and water will soak into the filter media. If this happens, moisture laden air will get pulled through the MAF next time you start the truck and can cause serious issues.

i just did this sunday. i bought some engine degrease at wal mart (two cans) did stang and truck same way.
drove them around block to get to temp. popped hood, sprayed everything with the can of degreaser (just stayed away from alternator as best as i could, but it still got wet). lt it sit while i sprayed the rest of the truck/car with water and made a bucket of suds to wash the car/truck with.
then went under hood and just went crazy with the hose. i put it on jet and blasted EVERYTHING. worked great. stang and truck both have nice and clean engine bays now.
