O2 sensor removal ?
Does anyone know if a special tool is needed to remove the O2 sensor, bank 2 (left side), upstream, on a 2005 ranger 3.0 eng I am about to cut a 1 ½' hole in the floor board. Or pull the eng. There is no space to swing a wrench or my favorite tool, a hammer. This is the most difficult issue I've had so far in the year and ½ that I had this PU. To grt it on the road I had 15 elec faults and several mechanical due to corrosion and rust from hurricane Sandy.. Exterior is in exceptional condition..

Crows foot 7/8" or 22mm wrench |
If that doesn’t help post a pic. There are several different tools available. |
o2 removed finally
Thanks, There is no room to swing a wrench. What finally removed the sensor was an additional person that brought a 1/2" swivel head ratchet wrench. One through the fender well after removing the splash flap with the 1/2" wrench and heavy crows foot, and one from above with a 3' long 11/2" x 11/2" wood punch and a 2 lb hammer to beat on the crows foot, a 8 oz hammer didnt work .
