OEM oil filter FL-400S

I have a 2005 , 3.0 V6. I have owned it now for 17 years. I always buy an aftermarket oil filter. Used Royal Purple for most of its life and been using Mobile 1 for last 3 years.

Will the OEM Motorcraft oil filter be adequate for a full synthetic oil, considering it was originally designed using conventional oil?

Thank You

I've run the FL400S for 12 years and over 150,000 miles with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic on my 3.0. I can say from experience that it's fine.

I have over 280 K miles using Motorcraft filters with Valvoline full synthetic oil in my 02. No problem here. I don't think filters are designed for conventional or synthetic oil. They are just designed for oil.

More important that you bother to routinely change the Oil+Flter, than what brands are used.
Old dirty sludged up oil & a clogged filter will cut your engine life in half, no matter what's used.
