Read my rant again, take a few minutes and let the information soak in. Being a good driver, I would take a 4x4 to go mudding or rock crawling. I'd like to see you come out here and try to keep up with me, cause it sounds like you dont have the cajones to negotiate high speeds.

My truck isn't for high speed anything. I have a quad for that. But since you are a noob you know nothing about me or what I do. If my attitude bothers you then you need to grow some "cajones" yourself and get over it.

Does it bother you that I can make the distinction of when to get in a rig with 4wd and when to hop in the 2wd? It seems to, must really be getting under your skin. The fact that I just joined this forum by no means make me a nOOb, just means that I was busy before, and now have time to kill.

Honestly, YOUR attitude doesn't bother me, its the argument that your brought to the table. For all I know, you could be the nicest person around town, just caught up in another stupid debate. Just remember, there are more types of offroading than what you do. Different people, different strokes.

come on guys.... 2wd has its advantages as does 4wd. some people dont need 4wd cuz they can satisfy there "offroading, mudding or rockcrawling" bug and they are happy. i bought a 4wd and i rearly need yo use it. im not a huge wheeler. i like to play in my little mud holes. people in here have a different idea of rock crawling. what i call rock crawling and what someone else may call rock crawling are different. to be tecnical a ROCK the size of a baseball is still know to be a ROCK, in turn would be called ROCK CRAWLING. let the people have there fun in w.e they want to call there wheeling. in your opinion they may sound stupid ot w.e. but WHO CARES it is them and there opinion. just be glad you not the "stupid" one talking like "that".

I really don't care what you do with what vehicle. I simply stated that a built 2wd will go far but not as far as a 4wd and what I mean by that is a 2wd wont go where a 4wd can when you try to use a 2wd like a 4wd. But I'm stupid for saying that according to you. I have seen this in person so many times. Yeah a 2wd will do better in some situations. I know that. High speed desert racers use 2wd for racing.

And I called you a need because you are new here. So automatically you judge me as an a$$hole like every other noob does. I am an a$$hole at time. I don't care.

It seems a bit stupid to be arguing about it. Considering the fact half the fun is getting stuck. I've wheeled both ways, and it's stupid to think that your far superior to someone elses truck simply because you have an extra two wheels pulling. Driver mod goes a long way.

2wd has its place and 4wd has its place....if you can't figure out which goes where, you're an idiot

I'll chime in on this one. I use my 2wd 2000 ranger as a DD and I go offroad every weekend to deer hunt. Most of the guys I hunt with have 4x4's. They can go places that I cannot no question about that. With a 2wd, it really boils down to traction, and experience/skill. This year I put on some Goodyear Wranglers ATX I think?, anyway a mud tire. I can go through almost everything now. I let the pressure down to 22 psi in the back tires and get lots of grip. Having said that, I have been stuck a couple of times this year. Those times I was simply spinning my one wheel right on top of the mud. No traction at all. The 4wd trucks crawled right through the same spots. Not deep holes at all, just slick mud. Sometimes those extra wheels turning makes a huge difference. Based on my experience, 2wd will not go everywhere a 4wd can go, but if you know how to drive in mud, you can wheel with a 2wd.

( it was coming from the driver side tire) is that bad? it drives fine just wondering.

Thats the trick to 2wd's. Most of the time I just haul *** and hope I make it through. With my old ranger I just hauled *** and kept moving. Made it through an entire sopping wet muddy raining hunt club in the middle of nowhere with a 2.3 5 speed 2wd 97. It was interesting to say the least

haha, no, I have made it through worse, but I do enjoy playing in 2wd more than 4wd it's more of a challenge lol, a friend had a nissan 2wd 5speed he lifted and put 31's on he did pretty good until the mud got a little taller than the thickness of his tires, or close to the rim of the wheel. but it was funny cause while he was peaking out his engine trying to get out I was in mine sitting beside him and laughing. we had alot of fun with his truck. he had it looking sharp too. to bad he sold it.
