Officially Official.....US/CA Ranger dead after 2011 model year

I'm planning on keeping my 2003 Ranger for a very long time, I'm fixin her up as needed, and it's way cheaper than buying new. I use it quite a bit for hauling 3-600 pound loads. I like it because of it's small size, it's very easy to load and unload. I'm only about 5' 9" and the Ranger is the perfect size for me. A friend has a Silverado and it's way to big for me or him. He can't reach over the side or into a toolbox like I can. The mileage ain't great but it's not too bad either. I don't want a bigger truck, the Ranger is perfect for me.

this last week i rode in all the small pick ups...ranger, taco, frontier and canyon/colorado... the rager has them tranced on power, maybe not mpg's but on power. plus the shoulder to shoulder room is better in the ranger in my opinion.
i think this is a bad move for ford just because they are not filling the "void" i dont want an f150. if i go full size im getting a fullsize with a diesel. period. im getting fully that i can use.
fail on ford

Years ago, I had a Chevy LUV truck. It got into an accident and the front grill, driver's side fender, and hood had to be replaced. The parts had to be ordered form overseas and took 6 weeks to arrive. No more imports for me thank you.
My recent accident with my Ranger was a completely different story. Parts are very easy and quick to get. No problem at all.

I think that will be the main reason for the world to end… no Rangers running around to keep the earth’s magnetic fields in place.
I have driven Rangers since 1993, it was an ’88 STX/5.0L Option (LoL) and will not buy an F150 because they are too big, no other reason. I do not drive far enough any more to worry about gas milage just what I like to drive and how easy it is to drive.
I have already said it too bad Ford is thinking with its @ss.
Instead of thinking about what the UNITED STATES buyers wants, they are worried about this World Truck, OK so be it but build one of the US, we could use a 4x4x4 Ranger (Wheels/Drive/Doors) with a diesel none the less !
Ford start listening, PLEASE !

After seeing the ones in the UK and driving a few outside the US, I'd love to have the one the UK gets... 4 door 4x4 with a diesel... I would actually trade my current one for that...
Fiesta ???? WTF are they thinking? Whats the tow rating? Yeah didn't think it would pull 5500 lbs.. Or haul over 1000 lbs. If I wanted to compare a ranger buyer to another vehicle maybe I would have gone with the Explorer or the Sport trac... But don't those cost as much as the 150??? Douche Bags...
Thats like chevy telling me I'd buy a Cobalt over a Vette because its more economical... I'd still buy the Vette because I don't have kids and if I were to blow $35k on a pos SS edition ***** car I'd add an extra $20k and get something worth driving. ( For those of you with Cobalts I'm just making a point, not that your driving a ***** car, just that I know you'd choose a Vette if you didn't have kids and your wife didn't wear the pants )
Or saying a Pinto is just as fun to drive as a GT500.....
I also hate it that I can only order my new truck with this option that requires that option with these wheels and heated leather seats... I live in Florida, WHAT DO I NEED HEATED SEATS FOR??????
For resale value? Hmmm I still own the '89 Chevy and the Jeep I bought in 2000, you think I give a #$&* about resale value? If I gave a damn about resale I wouldn't buy it in the first place.....

power? lol are you joking? the taco, colorado, and frontier are like 260 hp. the 5 cylinder colorado get like 28 mpg highway.

Tacos are for eating, not for driving. Nuff sed. And as the Frontier isn't awful, I could just never bring myself to own one.
As for the Ranger not in the U.S? Just a reason to drive one back from South America!
I am on-board for a Ranger rally at Ford HQ though... that's way closer than say, Costa Rica.

How about you put a new Ecoboost V6, 6 speed transmission, and an updated suspension into the ranger? Yeah, you would have a hell of alot more buyers in the small pickup industry, while pumping out over 32 MPG's - which is -way- more then any big truck can get, and your paying for a fraction of the cost of a big truckQUOTE]
.hell yeah
