I have a 1993 Ranger 2wd. 4 cylinder, 5 speed blah blah blah.

I think its the steering box but when I steer and make a right or left turn (could be going down the highway or a slow turn) I make the turn like normal and when I let go of the wheel the steering wheel goes back to center but the truck continues the way I steered it. I then have to correct it back the other way and it will go straight.

The truck goes straight if I let go of the wheel when normal driving.

I do have to move the wheel more then normal when going down the road in a straight line.

When I bought the truck it had new ball joints installed, a leaf spring mount and some other bushings in the front end.

The pitman arm tierod arm joint was bad.

Since then I have replaced the tie rod ends and got a alignment.

The only other problem my truck has is it will make this pop sound when I let out on the clutch. but I think thats the rear brakes because they need changed and are sticking.

With that said sometimes if I make a quick turn (city driving) I can hear a loud clank type sound out of what sounds like the back of the transmission. I reallty think the bushings are gone that support the transmission so that could be it.

What do you think my steering issue is? Steering box?
All fluids are good as well.
