It would seem that the oil is like new from the report and that my engine is way below average for wear. I didn't expect a report as good as this especially with the hot (110+) weather this oil went through. I take the truck off road and the dust is heavy. I have to open the doors and use my air compressor to blow the dust out of the interior when I get home. The engine compartment will have piles of dust and dirt in it. Stop and go traffic with the A/C wide open 5 days a week. The point is I use the truck AS A TRUCK and also commute 25 miles each way to work.

The silicon is only slightly higher than average and the Blackstone people have this to say about that.

With the dust and dirt I put it through I'm happy with the results. Seems that I'm doing everything right with my truck.

That blackstone site has good info. I was reading through it and now I want a bi pass oil filtration system!

I thought people would be interested in this. I've gotten some interesting responses on another forum. People are so concerned about changing oil at 5000 miles and this lets them know that it's OK to do it at 5,000, in fact I could run it quite a bit longer. Some good stuff here but I'm new to this and would like some feed back. I've never had oil analyzed before.

my old oil looks like it came directly out of the ground, and not out of my engine when i change it :crazy:

Good info and a good reality check.

In another 2-3 week I'll be taking my first sample for the blackstone report. So far I've used nothing but 5w-30 motorcraft oil and pure one oil filters changed at 5,000 miles. Just like the owners manual calls for.

I'm trying to figure out if mobil 1 is really worth it for a dailydriver. Using the motorcraft oil is about 1/2 the cost.
