Let's play, "Name that 1993-1997 Ranger part"!

So...for all you 3rd Genner's out there.

I am currently trying to locate and purchase the little skinny narrow piece under the grill and headlights, and above the bumper.

It's..well, long and skinny, and wraps around under the turn signals.

What the crap is that called? I want one.

Thanks!

Holy Crap! I looked at the header panel, and for some reason in my head I thought that it was metal that everything else attached to.

I feel dumb!

Thanks, man! Looks like I have one last piece to order, lol.

I'm gonna have an all new front end!

Dude, Zach! Thanks! That's exactly what I needed.

It's already been shipped from Pennsylvania, my Daddeh should have it in a few days, and then ALL of the stuff goes off to get painted, yay!

There is gonna be nothing stock in the front of my truck. I'm replacing the grill, header panel, lights and corners, bumper, air-dam -- all of it.

Trust me -- there will be a plethera of pictures.

The only part I am concerned about is the rounded part above the headlights that come down next to the corners. I hear that the Splash grill doesn't cover the whole top of the headlights and stuff -- and that is what I remember. However, I read all over the place that the regular grill that you have, Zach has, and I currently have DOES cover the entire thing -- but I cannot see how that is.

That is the only part I haven't ordered for the front, are those little pieces. Hope I don't screw myself, but according to the picture above...it'll work. Yay!

Look at parts 1 and 2, compare.

Look at parts 5 and 6, compare.

That is what I am worried about.

If my grill is the style that Zach has [part 1], I am screwed and have to order those parts.

If mine is style 2, with the little "wings", as I will call them, I am golden.

Looks like I need to get back into the archives of my pictures and try to see what I have.

I am prety sure I am good to go, as I remember something about the 1995 being different than the 93 and 94...but ALL SPLASH TRUCKS have the already 96-97 grill. Since mine IS a Splash, it will/should accomodate the 93-94 Splash grill, even though I have a 1995...I hope.

We all know how STUPID Ford is with their small little changes...

Only time will tell.

If anyone can chime in, DO IT! lol.

Thanks!

ok swoopie here is how it works

Grill #1 like I have has a over lay chrome peice(#4) that unscrews before you take the grill screws off and its cuppled with parts #6

now Grill #2 has no chrome peice and should be 100% paintable and is one unit and is cuppled with part #5

now Grill #3 should come in argent paint(grey) that "normally" is a 4x4 grill BUT also used sometimes as a splash grill being Ford liked to slap on what ever they could find at the moment. and is also painted to mach sometimes and doesnt have the top chrome peice. and this grill is paired with the #5 part...

hope that makes sence

Yeah, I knew all that...I think, lol.

My Mom sent me some pictures, and I have the #2 grill now, with the #5 pieces, already painted purple.

When I receive my #3 [Splash] grill, it will be painted and paired along-side the #5 pieces I already have.

One thing that you DID just teach me, Zach, is that the #1 grill that you have HAS to be paired with the long, skinny #4 thingy.

If I would have 'fingered' that out, all that picture sending crap wouldn't have needed to be done.

Was that thing just an XLT thing, or a chrome appearance package, or something?

I'll see if I can post the pictures my Mom sent to me, just to show ya'll what I am talking about.

you just seemed unsure in your post thats why i sayed all i did. ya the #4 was like for the XLT's with chrome. and the #2 and #3 grill has the top #4 piece built into it

ya you have the 1 vertical post version of #2 grill and when you get #3 grill you can reuse your #6 pieces. but really i have seen this #3 grill alot around here and i think it looks like crap but thats IMO and its your truck!

also you seem to have a rare chrome bumper also it has NO plastic bumper pads which is really rare being that the one with no bumper pads usaully is the paintable one. be being you have a chrome on a splash i'll tell you right now it isnt stock being splashes never got chrome anything its like the same as an edge its monochrome everything all painted. maybe it was in a small wreck OR the painted bumper was rusting being that is a VERY common thing with the splashes. the paint on the bumper never seemed to beable to withstand a good rock chip

BTW what year truck is this the mirrors are wrong also its suposed to have painted mirrors alright but the gen 3 mirror's were like tiped up more not flat like the gen 5 mirrors that are on my truck its seems to have a gen 5 mirrors painted to match....interesting

Yeah, I am gonna sell it when I take it off. Actually, I might keep it around, like all my stock parts and stuff, just 'in case', you know?

Yep, that''s what I like about them.

It was in a small wreck that involved a trailer hitch...ouchie.

I don't have the Gen5 mirrors. I had the Level II, and that was a Gen5. I don't have those style mirrors, yet the Level II might have had something different. Damn Ford.

My truck is a 1995, and I can ASSURE you, these are the SAME style mirrors that were on my 1994 Splash I had a few years ago.

I have some more pictures, gimme a few.

what i am trying to say is it has the newer mirrors on it. not the normal gen 3 painted mirrors.

I am not saying it isnt a 1995 i just wandered what year it was tis all. and the newer mirrors are VERY simular to the Gen 3 paint able one'e. besides the fact the the bottom of the mirror is flat, being level with the gound and the gen3's have like a little lift to the there at a angle on the bottom. i wonder if i can find i pic to show you
