Icon5 Wiring help

I recently bought some led speakers. I got the speaker part wired up but I don't know how to wire up the led light inside. I went down to a custom speaker shop the guy gave me lots of speaker wire and a little electric switch . He said to hook the speakers up to the switch thn hook the switch up to the fuse panel. It sounded easy but when I gt home I had no idea how to hook it up. Can someone please help me. How do I hook it up to a 12v source In the fuse panel? It's a 2001 ranger extended cab and the speakers are in the back. Please help me wire the 2 speakers to the fuse box with the stuff he gave me. Thanks

Need more info, brand of speakers and model ?

Let assume the speakers are already setup for LEDs, then all that is needed it to hook up the 12V power to a terminal on the speakers.
BUT, most LEDs need a resistor in-line to reduce the voltage to a level the LEDs can work with and we do not know any of that.
So if I were U then I would start reading the instruction.
You already have the switch installed now you just need to determine if 12 volts can be applied to the speakers.

Also… IMHO, the power should be handled a little different.
You need to determine if you want the LEDs to come on with the headlights, w/ a Manual Override Switch or you want to be able to turn them on and off whenever.

I found a adapter where One end plugs into ur cigarette lighter and the other has the positive and negative that goes into ur speakers. U think this will work very good? It's at radioshack called enercell 12vdc vehicle power adapter plug. It also has a on and off switch on it.

Don’t know for sure about the adapter but it could if the voltage and the current is correct for the application.

What does the instructions say ?

i looked on line but couldn’t tell much, do you have model # for the speakers ?
There is a lot of Dual Speakers out there with LEDs...

From what I can see on the web there are four terminals on each speaker.
Two for Audio and two for 12 volt hookup.

Back to the original question: “How do I hook up the 12 volts to the speakers.

Find a location on the Circuit panel of the vehicles, check for the type of power you want, Switched - on with the key or 12 volts on all the time.
If you want have the Speaker LEDs switched on and off at your call, then you will need a switch too.
Run a fused wire from the circuit panel to your switch.
The wire can be small gauge wire, 20-ga and a low amperage fuse around 2 amps.
From the Switch run a wire to the Speaker 12 V Positive Terminal for the LED Connections.
From the Negative Connection of the speaker next to the Positive you just hooked up run that wire to a good metal ground location.
When you turn on the switch and the music plays the LEDs should fluctuate with the music.
that is all there is to it.
Most cars are negative ground, if by some chance you have a positive ground vehicle contact the speaker company for help.

Good Luck
