Out of the gate
Out of the gate
Been lurking for a bit, but finally decided to register. I have a 1994 XL 2.3L 5 sp 2wd. I'm the original owner and am at the point where I need to sell her or fix her-I'm leaning toward the Fix/Restore option.
She runs O.k. at the moment, but at 14 years is showing her age. I don't drive it much (maybe once on the weekends for the Homer Depot run, etc.), but would like to get it back to being a reliable and fun vehicle for running around town and towing the Pop-Up.
Before going all in for a "restoration", I want to be sure all of the mechanicals are in shape- A few random questions:
1) The truck currently has 119,00 miles: The Timing Belt was changed at ~60,000- does it need to be done again?
2) The Fuel and Oil Gauges quit working years ago-Easy to fix?
3) Aside from the routine maintenance and the TB question- Anything that I should check and/or replace before it goes wrong?
My mechanical skills are about middle of the road-I know how to use a wrench and am not afraid of some grease, but probably need a little hand holding through some of the more detailed items.
Any and all input is appreciated
Cheers,
Jay
