I live in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Are engine swaps allowed here? I searched around online but can't find what on looking for.


Specifically- I'm looking into putting a 302/351w in my 1997 Ranger. Are there certain restrictions I need to follow?


Fwiw- there aren't emissions testing here in my area.

I am in Monroe county. I'm not aware of any kind of restrictions for engine swaps for the state. As long as it passes inspection and titled correctly you should be ok

 

im in the chambersburg area nd i have never herd of restrictions for any kind of a motor swap in pa. all my friends have motor swaps in there mustangs. i wouldnt see a difference in a truck.

 

Just checking. A few of my friends have swapped engines before. They know people who will "just pass it" when inspection time comes around.

I wanna do it the legal way, I don't need any trouble.

 

You should be good. The only problem I could see it may have if you try to sell it and the dmv requires the title to be changed to a rebuild which requires a special inspection. I dont see it being an issue though if you plan on keeping it
