3.0 motor swap

new to this site tired a few searches & came up empty, posted under 3.0 w/ no luck. but from the amount of info I've read here someone must know the answer.
I have a 98 xlt 4x4 3.0 blown motor, found a 2001 ranger 3.0 motor & computer box is available. can it be used? Is it plug & play? Any issues I would have to be aware of?
Thanks

A fellow 3.0 user. I love its durability but look into getting a 4.0 for sure. If u think ur saving gas with the 3 youd be wrong.

Well after doing alot of reading, it seems the long block is a straight swap, Intake is questionable, using the 98 ECM is also questionable. any ideas?
Thanks
