Parking brake issue
Ordered a driver side cable for my 1997 4x2 114 wheel base long bed standard cab ranger. On my 3rd cable and all have been too short. Did a ford interchange , still not the correct part. My conduit around the cable is approximately 40". Any ideas why I can't come up with the correct cable?

Welcome to the forum
I would check 1998 model
I think 98 they switched to 3 cable setup? Mine is two cable and my housing length is around 40-41" I did check 98 and haven't found anything with that housing length.
1997 was last year of Gen 2 Rangers
1998 was start of Gen 3 gjjfkf
While almost all parts from Gen 2 and Gen 3 are the same, "almost" is the key word
You could have late model 1997 so has some 1998 parts
