Parts compatibility
Is a 2000 ranger stepside bed compatible with a 2005 straight side?
I was looking at a 2000 xlt for a parts truck to sway some things like the bed and some interior stuff onto my 2005. Are these years even compatible? |
1993 to 2011 Ranger regular cab or super cabs used the same 6ft bed, straight side or step side, so interchangeable as far as bolting them on
There were Long Bed regular cab Rangers with 7ft bed, only came in straight side, those beds CAN NOT be used because rear frame is different 1999 to 2011 used the same tail light wiring, "2 wire", the lens are the same as well so interchangeable as far as fitment, but can look different so you want a matching "pair" The step side has a shorter Filler Hose(to gas tank), and a narrower rear bumper and tailgate so those parts are not interchangeable |

How about power window parts or door panels would they be able to swap? |

+1 ^^^
Just the filler tube was different length 1995 to 2011 Ranger doors and internal door parts are interchangeable, regular cab or super cab doesn't matter, all have same body lines (1993/4) didn't have the internal door open/close switch) BUT Around 2006 the mirror mounting did change, so a 2009 Ranger mirror can't be mounted on a 2001 door and visa versa, but if you changed BOTH doors using same year it wouldn't matter, the mirrors would match Door panels did change over the years, not in size but in design Switching manual to power windows or visa versa does require 1 or 2 extra holes to be drilled to mount the regulators inside the door At the factory the doors are assembled separately as manual or power, and with any wiring needed, then installed on the truck, so there should be a wiring harness connector in the kick panel next to that door and maybe a ground wire So door can be removed with wiring intact with the rubber boot still attached to the door |
