PATS Conversion

Just wondering, probably more hastle than it's worth, but what is all involved in transforming a Ranger without PATS, into one. Prices etc? Has anyone even done it? Or is it legal?

its a waste of time yes. Get a security system. I *think* PATs would be a ***** and in the end cost you more than security.

I put in the first gen PATS because of my V8 conversion. The module mounted behind the passenger air bag and the transceiver around the ignition. Grafting thbe wires wasn't to bad, the worse part was giving the RAT module a labotomy because it will fight with PATS for control.

I think that there is also a PATS software switch in the PCM calibration. Since he would be retaining his original PCM, that would have to be changed (assuming that it even exists in the 99 2.5L strategy).
