Fleets are slowing the rigs down. Prior to high prices they let the rigs roll at 70mph, I know of one fleet down to 62mph. One driving in particular is getting almost 8mpg with an 80K lb rig.

I still get tailgated alot on the 2-lanes for going 55... which is the speed limit, and while doing 55 I'm getting 20+mpg, dont hate...lol

I set my cruise to 55 and set back and enjoy the ride, (get just under 26 mpg). What I find funny is watching the guys stress in the fast lane and burn up the extra gas and money they don't need to.

I always seem to catch up to them down the road, be it a red light or some other reason another reason they needed stop, gas, washroom, food, etc..

ive always driven slow in my ranger, mostly because its a 4 banger lol. But in my f150 i used to always hit 90+ on the freeways :)

I dont see it. I drove 1500 miles this weekend and I averaged 87.2 mph with a max speed of 102.4 in my moms subaru legacy and still managed to get 31-32 mpg :)

here in cali you have to keep up with the flow of traffic on the freeway which is usually around 80, and people(quite a few) are still cruising by you quickly.

I drive the same; I do get pissed when I read about politicians wanting to raise the gas tax by ten cents though. I also do my best to pass/cut off the entire tree hugging hippie scum:240: drivers. That’s why I want my truck as big and obnoxious as I can get it...just doing my part to help the environment:fing02:!!! I wish I could mount something in the bed of my truck and spray all of them with what they perceive as evil oil:saevil: and what I consider the glorious liquid of progress as I drive by them...Oh, I would also like to throw a big ol' slab of ground beef on their windshield for good measure!!!
