The Pepto Bismol Effect!!! HELP ???

Yes I've got tranny fluid in my coolant. I had just got done putting a new water pump, thermostat, temp guage and radiator in my son's 2000 3.0 when my temperature guage on dash quit working. Everything was topped off and it wasn't running hot so I wasn't rushed on mine. I just picked up a new temp sensor for it while getting parts for my sons truck. Well, I was running some errands one day and noticed my plastic guard that covers covers coolant lines underneath had fell down on one side. I tried to put it back but it slipped off again. My next stop after switching ignition off I heard gurgling. Popped the hood to find coolant boiling out the reservoir it looked like Pepto Bismol real thick and then I watched as one of hoses going to the heater core exploded from pressure also. I got enough water in it to make it home but not before tranny starting going out. I'm wondering if the plastic guard dragging the road caused a rock or something to lodge somewhere causing a restriction. I looked and it appears like something stuck in the ac cooler. (That's what I call it) Facing the front of the truck you have 3 coolers. Trans cooler, ac then radiator. If in fact an object is stuck in the ac cooler could that be the reason for the mix coolant ???

If the flow of fluid is blocked off or restricted yes it could cause the built in transmission cooler to leak.

If you have full coverage insurance, this may be partially covered by your automotive insurance.

Before I did any work I would take pictures and contact your insurance provider to see if
something like this is covered.

Thanks Ea outlaw. I just talked the wife into dropping to just liability not even a year ago. . Oh boy, I have to laugh to keep from crying. Being honest, when this happened to mine while working on my sons cooling system I thought someone was messing with me. I mean what are the chances right ? I've been stewing on it for 2 weeks but I got to do something. I went ahead and drained coolant that day. What you think the next step is, take the ac cooler out to inspect it ?
