Serious Braking issues at low speeds

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge 4X4 (6cyl). The brakes started going all the way to the floor at low speeds... 5 mph and less. The truck goes an extra 3ft before coming to a complete stop! The abs light does not come on at all so I'm guessing it's something else. I've had it to 2 different ford dealers and 1 mom and pop shop and nobody can figure out the problem. Any ideas?

Does the truck feel like the ABS is kicking in?

To be honest, I don't know what that feels like. I want to say no. And it doesn't happen all the time. At first it started just by turning my wheels when pulling into a parking spot. Now it does it going straight.

Someone I know with a 03' is having the same problem and I can't figure it out. It has been taken to Ford twice and they don't know what is wrong. It has me scratching my head. It is very weird and random. Nothing triggers it. I hope you find out the problem.

This is very frustrating... if I find out anything, I'll let you know. Thanks

I heard back from my friend. He took his truck to Ford back and raised H*^l to the service manager. They got their best tech on it and found out it was a erratic reading from the PS wheel speed sensor. This is what I suspected when I looked at it but did not have a Ford scan tool to confirm. You just need to figure out which sensor is bad. I hope this helps.

Oh my gosh... You've lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I'll get mine checked out on Monday. At least now I have some idea what's wrong. Thanks again!
