Seafoaming the Ranger
Can anyone tell me exactly how to do it with a 4.0 V6? I have 189,000 miles and I think my truck runs great. Hoping this stuff can prove me wrong. If someone could just tell me how to use it, and let me know of any risks I'll be taking if I do use it, that would be great.
Thanks Guys

You run it through the brake booster hose. Pour the seafoam into some kind of container. Dunk the booster hose in there to suck it up but don't let the engine die. After you get about 1/2 the bottle in the engine turn it off and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Start it and rev the crap out of it to blow all the crap out. Then dump the other half of the seafoam can into the gas tank. Or you can use the whole can in the engine if you like.

It's "supposed" to remove carbon buildup in your engine. Piston tops, upper intake, etc... I do know it's a really good upperintake cleaner as I've personally seen the results from doing it to my ol 2.9
I've never seen a truck that ran a little rough or anything, actually benefit from using it or run smoother though. Even my own trucks..

My 4.0 SOHC got to a point where, when it was still coming up to operating temps, it would "pulse" during partial throttle opening. Couple that with plenty of pinging and you have an idea of my scenario.

I did what you said but I didn't turn it off for 15 minutes. I just drove the snot out of it for about 20 minutes, topping it out, and cruising at 90mph. Didn't cause any problems, and throttle response is great, idles better, doesn't vibrate the truck when I'm in too low of a gear, seems like better gas mileage, and it starts up in half a second every time. I must say it was the best 9 dollars I've ever spent.
I have 189,000 miles and I have never ran SeaFoam through the motor. And I had no white smoke like everyone said.
