Removing aftermarket Tint, and cleaning window

alright, well this looks like a "general" question..... i got after market tint on my truck 20%. its been on since oohhh mid september 04.... so, i was thinking of going to like 5%, id need to remove the existing tint right? how difficult is this to do?

I dunno if you need to remove the tint...but if you do, I removed my tint last week.

Bought this stuff called "Gila" tint remover from advance auto parts, follow their instructions which is basically spray the stuff on, wrap in a garbage bag, leave for 30 mintues, then scrape off with a razor blade. tint comes right off

all the tint i have taken off i just use rasor blade and pull and it comes off if there is any adhisive i use a 3M adhesive remover, never have anyproblems

I've seen the guys at the shop use a steamer when pulling the old tint , leaves no residue behind...

whats factory tint %? i know factory tint is darker than mine....

factory tint is betweet 15 and 20%

how would one cover the back window with a plastic bag?

couldnt i just use 3mill plastic and blue painters tape? hell i think i got like 20,000ft of plastic...

Whatever works...experiment. I used garbage bags for the sides, didn't use tape, just put it through the top of the window, closed the window and tucked it in at the bottom. Back window is a different story, yea

When I took mine off my old car, I used a razor blade and cleaned it up with Windex, It wasnt to bad to do...
