What would you guys recommend for a stock 03 Ford Escape, Nerf Bars or Running Boards?

 

i'd go with neither...just my opinion.

i would have to agree with these guys, but if you are going to do something perhaps for ease of getting in your truck, maybe your wife complains like mine does, i'd say go with nerf bars, they look a ton better and are more durable in my opinion. just my .02

 

I agree with neither. Running boards are hideous and cheap looking, step bars are a little better way to go.

 

why not make them dual purpose and put on some rock sliders
make for a good step up and protect your rocker panels

 

Step bars for sure. Running boards look better on full size trucks than they do on ours.

 

I like the rock slider idea but, I doubt you're going rock crawling in an Escape. I'd go with the nerf bars myself.

 

check out bones enterprises on ebay. I bought my bars from him, westin sells em for $700..... but they say westin on them, I got mine $196 shipped and they say Ford.

 

I just want them for the looks.. Escapes are low enough that I can get into them on my knees. I don't think chrome step bars would look too bad

I just like the look without step bars tho. it feels more like a truck.

 

nerf bars/step bars?!?!? I thought they were the same thing.

Idk what the difference is, so i say chrome whatever you get.

 

Mark as far as I am concerned Nerf/Step bars are the same thing. Running boards would be more form fitted to a vehicle where a step bar is generally just a round tube. Like the ones on my truck or that come stock on some rangers.

 

eh ..... neither i think escapes look fugly with them .... much 'cleaner' look to them when they are naked lol if i still had the ones that came on my moms id give them to you ...
