BMW motorcycles are comfortable, will run forever, and are extremely fast. Use the tool that fits the job.

The same goes for police cruisers. There are so many cars now that can outrun a police interceptor in the straightline and the twisties. Thankfully Dodge came out with the SRT charger which will keep up with most stock cars now-a-days.

City of Centennial has about 5 03 Ranger's for their code enforcement, as well as a couple new escapes (I see them daily as I pass the City Hall daily... if you can call that building a City Hall.

Arapahoe County Sheriff/City Of Centennial uses new crown vics, a couple Tahoes, chargers, and brand new 08 Expeditions, with a couple 06's mixed in the fleet. They also have about 7 Duramax 2500's as well. They regularly change out their unmarked fleet, usually consisting of a couple older Impy's, couple new Impy's, and a couple Chargers. Though as of lately they've been using a brand new Magnum. It's cool, all black, and the only giveaway is you can see the LED bar in the back window. Otherwise you can't tell it's a cop car. Every time a black Magnum pulls up behind me I freak, and it's been the cop car 60% of the time. I think it's one of the coolest unmarked cars out there. I'll try and snap a cell phone pic of it pulling someone over next time I see it.

Lol, Lets see you try to outrun my SVT, straight-line or curves. Hell, even some of the ZX3's aren't bad if they're 5spd.

Around here all they have is boring old Crown Vic's in the Ohio State Patrol fleet, occasionally a Tahoe as a Motor Vehicle Inspector, and then Impala's and Crown Vic's as Sheriff's cars and the local towns' PD fleets, no sweet impounds-turned-cop-cars

Charlotte has an '04 Cobra and a 350Z they seized during a street racing crackdown. We have all kinds of undercover vehicles, from old Explorers to new Honda Elements. There is no telling what will pull you over around here!

Eh, not any truck. Those forced induction guys would get very tricky very fast, depending on what they were running. However, getting a Ranger to handle the curves at similiar speeds can be tricky and expensive. Not saying it isnt possible, I know there are some guys that have race-built and race-inspired suspensions on here, but for the most part....

I'd straight up blow the doors off of Terrance's 4.0 OHV, and I'm not even modded yet. Just wait til I get my stage 2 with alum flywheel put in, along with some other goodies. :) Haha My buddy called me a ricer when I bought my SVT, I didnt think I'd hear the end of it. I let him drive it to his house to pick up a pair of jackstands for me, while I worked on another vehicle... He came back apologizing, and begging to buy it LOL - Its not just the funnest vehicle I've ever driven, but the funnest one he's ever driven now too..

The city of Mesquite around here used to have a 5.0 LX 'Stang for their interceptor. That thing was nasty, supercharged with a two stage nitrous hit on it, all installed by the P.D. They needed something to catch all the street racers around here. Now their interceptor is a Camaro, also blown and fogged. You don't run from the mesquite P.D.!

it would suck to see your former car driving around being used by the police.
it would really suck to get pulled over by the cop driving your former car for speeding or some other traffic infraction.

we got a couple unmarked chargers up here and a magnum they are pretty sweet to see. we also have an SS truck. we did have a f-150 (01) body style that was 4x4. i always wanted to get ahold of it and go play.

I see all sorts of undercovers, the best I saw was an older Econoline work van with roof racks and a ladder on top. I see a lot of undercover Malibus tho, my dads friend is an undercover and drives one. He even has a AR15 mounted in the trunk on some type of quick release mount thing loaded and ready to go. All cop cars are pretty much Crown Vics around here, and all of the new Sheriff's cars are new Chargers.

i can tell first hand about police vehicles.

the Crown Vic PIs can run in a straight line and take the turns pretty good. they like to eat tires like crazy but are built like a brick **** house. for a big car they run and handle good.

the impallas are quick and nimble but dont rank with the CVPIs. they get squirly over 75.

the Hemi Chargers run like a bat outta hell and handle really well but the body work is CHEAP...the rear facisa will literally shake at speed. the underside is built pretty well but the rear axle is cheap and cant take much abuse.

i work on sheriff cars at work and i seen all three types. they also have an expedition and durango and they suck.

here where i live in california all the cops are getting chargers and the k-9 units are getting magnums to roll around in and im assuming that they are faster then the crown victorias becasue i know those are not that fast... basically long story short i was driving with my friend one night down the freeway no one around except for a car behind me tailgaiting me so i floor it to pull away and i was in a 01 gmc 2500 with the 8.1L V8 with small lift bigger tires and an edge programmer and i pulled away from the cop behind me they could not keep up but once i started to slow down they flipped the lights on and surprisingly let us go with a warning but a few weeks later i saw one of them in the store and they joked with me about it asking what kind of motor it had and such haha sorry that was a long story but a great one to tell haha

My dad works for the SO. he did the restoration and all of the custom fab work on it. Like the fist holding the flag. That's the battering ram he made.

elementsendjo - Do you happen to live in Winter Park b/c we have a truck thats exactly like that and at christmas time we put those things on the light poles.

Also in out town they have an undercover Shelby gt350 that is red with black racing stripes. Pretty sweet until everyone has figured out what it looks like and watches out for it.

Nope, it is Citrus County. I didn't know that winter park had one. What is the name of the department?
