there is a Shrader (sp) valve on the injector rail that you can push in to release the pressure.....it isn't necessary though...i never do....you will spill a tad bit of gas on ya, but not enough to worry about it...just keep your face out of the way..

I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump, ran the truck until it died, put vice grips on the lines, and removed the filter without any gas coming out.

easiest method, just change the filter and dont worry about, keep the face out of the way as stated and you are fine, you will only lose little of gas, and i mean only a little and not enough to worry about, ive always just changed the filters no problem

i lost more fuel on my diesel mercedes which has a low pressure fuel system where the filters are than on the truck with the high pressure system... just wear safety glasses to be extra safe and keep the fuel out of your eyes

Or just push the fuel pressure release button, located in the cab on the passenger side of the truck.
