DTC Code Reader

I have a SCT Bamachips Microtuner and I am wondering when using the tuner to scan codes if you must first disengage the fuel system like you do when programming the computer. In the manual it doesnt say, so I wanted to make sure when I do this.

Also, if I were to receive trouble codes, should I fix those problems first which is causing the trouble code before I clear them out or does it matter?

Thanks.

No reseting fuel, just plug it in and read the code (that is if it reads like a normal code reader, which I'm sure it does)

On clearing the codes, you can do either or none. If you clear it before its fine, just dont forget the code or you'll have to wait till it comes back (a few cycles) or leave it till after you fix it then clear it, or just leave it and when the computer senses that the problem is fixed (a few cycles) it will clear its self.
