Possible Causes of Leak
Possible Causes of Leak
I have a 2002 Ranger Super Cab 4ltr 4x4 Edge. Having the edge I have the vinyl/rubber floor.. This weeking I went to visit my son and Granddaughters, I took my Car.. It rained very hard when I was gone and even after I got home. When I opened the 2 doors on the passenger side, I noticed water on the bloor in the back near the door mostly...with a little in front floor also near the door.. I wiped it yesterday but was back this AM after more rain last night..Its not terrible. like water everywhere..My question is.. Is it worn out door seals, worn out door frame seals or all of the above AND if it is.. Is it something easy to replace for a DIY ??
Possible to be the seal around the door but not a common issue, never read about that kind of leak
Check the Door drains, there are holes in the bottoms of the doors so water running down the window can drain out, not uncommon for these to get plugged up, on any vehicle, and it rusts out the door, so worth checking in any case, and add more holes as needed, lol.
You should hear water sloshing around when you open or close the door so probably not this, just FYI for future reference
3rd Brake light on the cab is a known leak point on Rangers
After drying out the water run a hose on the 3rd brake light and wait to see if you get water inside again.
Any vehicles windshield trough can rust out and leak.
Around the windshield is a trough, trim hides it but water can get inside it and it sits in the lower corners, if it rusts through then water will run into the cab.
Same test as above, run water on windshield and see if it leaks inside

x2 on the 3rd brake light.. been there. sometimes all you need to do is remove the light,
clean the area very well, make sure the gasket looks good, then re-install and put a good coat of wax all around the outside of it.
