Power Steering Problem
 

well ever since my 32s have been on the ps has taken a small hit. its noisey has hell and now i have a bigger problem.

at a dead stop i have no ps, the tires take a ton of force to move side to side and all it does is whine. and of course the dealer aint doing **** cause its prob cause of my 32s. anyway. where should i start. try just flushing it first and see what that does, and check for anything in the fluid. when i start backing up or moving it gets a tad easier, but turning corners and parking takes a long time. the noise level idc about, its the force it takes to move the steering wheel

Ford power steering units make a ton of noise so you are not getting rid of that. You can quite it down using a synthetic fluid.

whining is ok, its just i cant turn when im not moving. like at all. ill get a vid

how much fluid is in the resvoir and have you been leaking any at all?

How do the boots on the rack look are they torn or anything?

fluid is good, no leaking, ive been checking boots every oil change

air in the system? bad TREs?

no air, tie rod ends i will have to check again.

I don't know about the 07 2.3's, but the OLDER versions of the 2.3 had a PS pressure switch installed.

That PS pressure switch will sense low PS pressure at idle, signaling the PCM to boost up the idle (by electrically actuating the IAC).

Your problem could be as simple as a bad PS pressure switch. When sitting still at idle, turn the steering wheel and listen for the idle to increase. If that doesn't happen, you either have a bad PS switch or a bad IAC.

I would look into that and strongly recommend you flush out the old PS fluid (ATF) and replace it with synthetic ATF. I've also heard good things about a Lucas PS additive/fluid, but since I had success with synthetic ATF, I never tried the Lucas stuff.
