pushing power out of the 4.0?

i have a 02 ranger xlt, love the car, i was wondering since it shares the same engine as the mustang v6 from around the same gen, will mods made for the mustang fit with it? the most il be doing is a low profile supercharger to get some extra umf from the engine. can the block take a mod like that? or will i need to find another way to add more power. engine swap is a thought but not at the moment, i want to keep that sohc 4.0 in for the time being

Yes, it is the same engine, Mustangs got different cams for more HP and less torque

Check on the Mustang forums to see how much boost stock 4.0l SOHC engine can take, don't recall seeing anything on Ranger forums about that
Each engine will be a little different of course, 7psi boost may be fine on your engine and 5psi may blow another guys engine, there are just general guidelines when you go above rated HP

That sounds like a fun experiment... ;)

Yes, an engine can take 1psi LESS boost when it blows out, and now you know its limit, lol.
