race?

Was just wondering how many people here drag race. What do you race and what times do you get. Just curious.

My times and all are in my signature.

Yes, not with my ranger, with my RX7. And not on the strip. Also, I dont want a lecture.

I occasionally race one of my friends down the street, but I haven't gone to the drag strip, so I do not have times. I don't want any lectures either.

I know I can't be the only one who thought this was going to be a poll on what "race" you are. Causcasian, black, hispanic, etc...lol

i revv at all sorts of people (woot Flowmaster) but thats just to get them to take off fast, i love hearing a Stang/Vette/other sick car take off. With the 3.0 pushing off-road tires dosent give me a chance in the world, so i just use my flowmaster to have fun

yea i race it, since the 2nd month i bought it last year. stock = 16.1; Lifted+tires = intially 17.3, at the end of last season i was running 16.6 . I raced one day so far "this year", Hangover nationals, January 1st. everyone had to run a 20.01 dail in, quickest was 17.5, deep staged and in 4wd intill the 60ft mark, and then the days slowest was 22.8, spinning the tires like mad to the 330 ft. mark, and then when it shifted into 3rd gear.

Deep staging helps alot actually, once your running rather taller tires. I usually have to use 4wd to launch to keep it straight and not spin the tires as much.

I'll run anything I own (same as you looks like)I like to race in the winter when Nascar is over. I like actual Races, not test 'n tunes so I'll bring whatever they are racing in the brackets that night. Here are some times:

For the import shootouts they would let me drive my Saturn which was around 14.7's with nitrous. I haven't run it in a couple of years. Gave it to my son.

truck shootouts I'll run my 4.0- 16.37 best. Since the 33" all terrains it hasn't been a good track truck so...
I bring a 3.0 Ranger single cab. It's a one wheeler but I can run high 16's (16.93 best).

Mustang shootouts I have a 2003 mach 1 and best is a 13.79. I normally stay in the low 14's with it.

My true race truck is a work in progress. It's a non street legal s-10 that currently runs 14'.8's n/a but I haven't run it on nitrous yet.

here is one seasons worth of trophies from about 2 winters ago. I was on a roll and won the whole series (big trophy). It was a street shootout so I could run anything and I did. I got trophies in the 4.0 ranger, the 3.0 ranger, the saturn, and the mach. It will never happen again but it was a fun season for sure.

BTW, one of my brothers has you beat. He could never quite get in the 20's with his diesel chevette or his diesel izuzu truck. Both were 22 sec rides.

I have taken my 97 cobra mustang to the local track for test and tune nights. i haven't run it for serious competition yet.

I ran 13.90 @ 102 MPH with the cobra

I ran my ranger when it was stock it ran 15.80 @ 89 (I can't remember exactly but that's very close)

I pit crewed for a NHRA sport compact car a few years ago.
