Sold My Ranger And Bought Another
I finally got tired of shifting my '08 5 speed 4 cylinder Ranger. I found a dealer with several new 2011 Rangers. The one I bought is a Sport 4.0, automatic, extended cab. So far I am really liking it. First tank of mixed driving, 60% city 40% highway, yielded 18.3 mpg.

Nice! Ya the 4.0 is not super efficient. Its a give or take situation.

throw some 33's on it and lift her and knock 4 mpg's off that

My 4.0 gets better mileage than my old company truck with a 3.0 auto. Needless to say it has a lot more power.

still, the 4.0 is the best motor for the ranger...
