Ranger 4 cylinder electric fan?

Does anyone have an '01 or newer 4 cylinder ranger?

Where does the temperature sensor sit? in the radiator?

Can you tell me the size of the radiator and fan Vs the 3.0 V6 version?

Is it a 2 speed fan?

I'm toying with using a Dorman radiator fan for a 4 cylinder in my EFan upgrade, any thoughts?

In the 2001+ 2.3 DOHC Ranger, the electric fan is used in front of an engine driven, clutched fan. It has BOTH. This small, single speed electric fan would not be adequate to cool a V6 Ranger by itself.

Any reason for the swap? Have you calculated the load on the alternator currently and the amp draw expected from the e-fan?

I don't have any major rationale for this, i think my clutch is having issues and i like the idea of the EFan tbh.

Amp draw is something i need to consider, but finding a suitable fan to scale that to is my first job (i think)

You can also swap for the 130amp alternator if you haven't already done so. Direct swap.

I think i need more info on that alternator, i have seen mention of it, from an explorer of certain years?

My local JY's are very helpful so if there are easier/alternate ways of getting this stuff, it would help.

Also, i cannot find info confirming the 4 cylinder used both electric and shaft driven fans, anyone?

There are pictures at the bottom of this link showing the two types:
Ford Ranger Alternators

Just look around the JY for a two hole alternator in a Ranger and you'll be good to go.

Useful, thank you.

Interesting from that page; the Taurus has a ~75 amp alt....
