Will a cap off a 1994 ex cab ranger fit on a year like a 98- and up ex cab?

Boxes are the same so I don't see why not. I have a generic black cap off an '01 sport, had it on my '93 and am about to put it on my '09 (all extended cab). Doesn't line up 100% cause it has a bit of a flair to it but its close and it looks decent enough. LR
