Ranger Cruise Control Recall

I took my Ranger to my local Ford dealer today for the cruise control recall. I thought they would
replace the switch, but all they did was add a "fused" wiring harness:

I got mine the week before last and took it in last Saturday and they added that same crap in about 5 minutes. They do as little as possible, just enough to make sure their hands are washed of anything that happens (if anything).

say what... i just brought the truck in the other day for this recall... are ya'll telling me that theres a recall on the recall lol?

The original recall just disconnected and disabled the cruise control I believe, this one actually "fixes" it... says it in the letter =) I got mine today as well..

I find it odd that Ford would ignore all the Rangers, etc. that didn't come w/ factory installed CC (speed control) even though we could (mine does) have the same deactivator switch and wiring that is hot at all times in question.

What's going to keep Ford from being sued when one of these Ranger's, etc. goes up in smoke???

Blah. Ya...that's the cruise fix. The local dealership is packed full of those recall harnesseses. Sometimes they got a bunch of 150 ones, and only a few ranger ones....and vice versa.

The original recall "fix" was temperarily unplugged, and a few months later they got the "fix" harnesses and installed them....those ended up not working, so they recalled the recall fix. lol.......this harness that's pictured in this thread is the "recall fix fix". lol. It's exactly what i got.
