V6 would probably be XLT
But if there is no factory cruise control then would be XL or Edge
The Edge could be a more basic model than XL for some options

Ford Dealer may be able to look up your VIN and tell you what it was sold as

It should also be on the title or description on the insurance card.

You can run your VIN in a Ford parts locator and it will tell you from the VIN what you have

I would think the XL, XLT, would be posted on the side of the vehicle.

As far as the Cruise Control goes, I have an EDGE, it has CC, it has A/C, it has a V-6, so I am guessing that will not always tell you what model you have.

I would do as everyone above has mentioned, look up the VIN.
I think the site has a VIN Look Up Link, or go to a Ford Dealership and see if they will help you out !

Good Luck

Grumpa, I tried the Fordetis you suggested out of curiosity and it did not reveal much besides the outside color and production date down to the day which I had not found before. However, I used in the past this site and received good information including whether it is an XL or XLT because my truck only shows Ranger on the side it also gave me the model of the transmission. To help those who may be looking for the same information my truck is 2003 Ranger with a V6 3.0L 2 WD that only shows Ranger on the side nothing else has an automatic transmission manual windows, mirrors and door locks and no cruise control with a 7 foot bed as it was part of a fleet vehicle for the first 11 years of its service life (white, plain normal cab with a service shell) and by looking up the VIN on the Ford Parts I discovered that it is an XL.
