mistake

Hey guys i mad the mistake of putting brake fluid in my power steering resivoir should i drain it or will it not hurt it

Id drain it out is less you want to put a new powersteering pump on it.

Change it out. Brake fluid is corrosive, power steering fluid isn’t.

Okay yes didnt start it up drained it refilled it with power steering fluild lol good to go thanks guy

my company truck had the same thing happen to it not by me but a ford machenic. it lasted almost a year and it crapped out. glad you got it fixed and a good news is you got all new power steering fuild in your resresivoir

Un hook the return line from the pump put it in a bucket and add fluid untill all is clear. It's really simple.

You should have a hard metal line that is the high pressure line look for the rubber line.
This is from my 87 ranger your's should be the same the line in the back of the pump is the return line.
Rember when replacing the fluid have a friend turn the steering wheel lock to lock to replace all the fluid.
DO NOT LET THE PUMP RUN DRY WHILE DOING THIS!

Or use a fluid vac...So easy.

Yes but what if you don't have a fluid vac? And want to replace ALL the fluid....
