Ranger vs. large vulture/buzzard
 

I hit a large vulture yesterday while on the interstate and now I need a new windsheild and hood paint. It scraped across the hood, and smashed into the windsheild (scared the Sh*t out of me...lol) and made a nice big head spot looking place in the glass, but fotunately didn't get hooked up on the wipers or made any dents or other noticeable damage besides a bunch of blood, guts, and feathers everywhere. Insurance guy is supposed to be out this afternoon to look at it. I saw the damn bird on the side of road eating some roadkill and as soon as I was right there it took off and that was it, I barely had time to get my foot to the brake pedal. Man that was a horrible sound and about gave me a heart attack because of how sudden it was. Must have been a very heavy bird! Oh well, at least the glass and paint is not a big deal. I will attempt to post some pics later today. Fortunately my truck stays in the garage so I won't have to worry about the windsheid leaking in case it rains.

yeah, it was one of those gigantic teradactyl looking scavengers...lol! That combined with 70MPH, well... :sad: My neighbor said it reminds him of those turkey vs. aircraft windsheild tests just on a smaller scale.

I hit an owl once. all i saw was this BIG brown and white feathered wing and a loud thud. i stopped to see what i hit and he left..... the nerve of the owl, to hit my brand new truck and run off like that!

Can't be roadkill cause it wasn't on the road... airkill maybe?

I hit a Canadian goose once while it tried crossing in front of me while I was doing 50mph. I swear I didn't hit it cause it was Canadian. :wink:

I hit a bat once. Saw this grey thing flash in front of the car, then heard this WHAP! Got home and he was stuck in my grille. :dead1: He'd only been there for two hours... so it cleaned up real easy. :crazy:

you hit one too? lol. pansy birds just hit and run. scared the sh*t out of my ex when it hit on her side.lol
