Looking into this ranger, guy sent me some pics of it looks very nice. clean, low miles and a really good asking price. My question is what would this truck get for gas milliage vs my 95 4cl ranger that I have now? thanks would it be alot worse? I get about 28-30 now.

Yea....take 10 off what your getting now....and that's a 4.0L 4x4 xcab.

 

It depends on YOUR driving style. Are you a lead foot? or do you drive nice and easy? 28-30 mpg is really light on the gas pedal.

With my 3.0 auto and 32s with 4.10 gearing I get good gas mileage. Last tank I got 18.5 with all city driving. If I really push it and do most highway I can get 22 but that takes a lot of work.

 

I can get 18 in town and 22 on the highway on my 02 4.0

 

sorry forgot to search just woke up, haha thanks for all the replys guys. 20mpg sucks :( oh well I bet its worth it. I usually drive like an old granny to save gas but occasional i hammer on it and mess around so..

 

Do it! My 02 is sweet I am so glad that I picked it up and there are always things you can do to save $ on gas IMO you should get it

 

yeah im working on getting the money for it now, parents dont want me to have it since i wont be working more than 1 day a week while im in college so they think they have to pay for my gas and want me to get some cheap crappy car, im like no wayy am i spending all my money i earned on somthing liek that when i can get a nice ranger for the same price. guy wants 5500 for it though, I only have 4200 so i need to get some more :(

 

my 02 gets 15

 

my 04 4.0 4x4 gets about 15-17 city freeway 60-65mph cruising i can squeeze 24 with a slight tail wind. i can get it down to about 6 if i try really hard tho :)

 

15? That is so shatty. I need at least 20 i can't afford anything lower than that gas is already 4.20ish a gallon, and that is only regluar i run premium but i get like 28 mpg.
