Rear brake problems

hey guys I have been having a few problems with my rear brakes for a while now ....

Every once in a while when I lightly touch the brake pedal they grab really hard and lock up .. once it locks up its as if something in the brake system lets go and they will be fine for a little while ... then a little while later they do the same thing again. It seems to happen more when its rainy/snowy/wet

I just dumped over 500$ into the back brakes about 1 1/2 years ago and got pretty much everything redone.... think it could be a bad brake job ?? they worked fine up until a few months ago and now its just getting worse .. any help or advice would be appreciated

Is this just after a rain storm?

Mine Does
It Right After It Rains

I think that's common, I've owned two Rangers and they've both done that.
So far it's not too bad on the new one, but I've only had it for 15 months.

You could always take it back to the place that did your brake job and have them inspect it. Most places will do brake inspections for free.

I'm scared to take it for a "free" inspection because I don't want to know how much it'll cost hahah

Did it do it immediately after there brake job or did it just start happening? One thing you can do is pull the drums off to see if there is any broken springs. Just today a guy i know was driving to school. His brake springs and anchor point were broken( due to a coincidental brake stand) and the drums sucked the shoes into them and actually started them on fire.

Mine was recently just doing this too. Upon inspection of my rear brakes, turns out I didn't have any left!

Had the rear shoes and drums replaced and it is good as new and no longer locks up or grabs. My e-brake cable is also seized and requires manual adjustment every once in a while.
