Reattaching driver side view mirror housing on 2008?
 

In a heavy rain storm I managed to back past a tree a little too close and bent the driver side rear view mirror back. When I gently pulled it back into place, it fell off. The base is mounted to the body, and I see a spring inside the mirror housing. Looks like there should be another piece, like a pin connector, and maybe I left it behind (can be retrieved). Can I put this mirror back together again?

Chances are the rotating mechanism was rotated to far and broke.

You might try popping the glass off and seeing whats broken.
