Reck and Pinion questions

Hello everyone just have a question about my rack and pinion. I have a 2003 Mazda B3000 everything on it is Ford ranger except for the emblems. It has 150,000 miles. When I bought the truck the power steering fluid was black so I flushed it then the pump went out. I did put in a new power steering pump in it’s been flushed and vacuum bled. I have the front end on jack stands it turns smooth to the left but when I turn right the wheels stutter. Is this a sign that the rack has went South also.

It sounds like there is air in the rack. As far as I am aware, there is no alternative bleeding method other than the "lock to lock" method.

Make sure your reservoir is full while the wheel and rack is in neutral (center) and then slowly turn left and right until the shudder goes away.
