Spray on Bedliner: Stepside Bed

Been wanting to get my bed line-xed or something like that for a while. So I went down to a dealer today and asked around on what they could do. I want to go over the bedrails to hide some scratches. But one of my stock bed caps is scratched and gouged from usage. Should I take off the bed caps and let them spray it, or leave them on? I took the bed cap off on one side and it looked grooved and such under it.

Any thoughts or first hand experiences? Pictures would be awesome if at all possible. Thanks!

Id leave them on, because the are grooved for them and it looks weird without them on.

Ok, that's what I was thinking. I didn't know if that groove part came off or something. In the 6 years I have the truck, I have never had the bed caps off till yesterday lol.
