I've seen CVs grenade like that... but I've never seen a cracked steering knuckle or bent shock like that.

That must have taken a hell of a beating to crack that knuckle... those suckers are cast iron and HEAVY!

eww. Too bad I am not at home I have spare spindles off of Docs truck I could help you out. Thats rough and I bet they won't be that cheap. Hit up a boneyard.

Its all fixed now. The sad part is i dont even know what happend. I bout it that way. I knew it needed some tranny work and the rear end needed rebuild. So i got it for 1/3 of blue book in fair condition. The first time I put it in 4wd coming up a hill is when the axle blew on me but it did not seems like it was anything more than an axle. I took the axle out not even an hour after that and saw the crack in the steering knuckle and saw that inside the crack there was rust so someone had fun not me :(

I have some stock spindles but I bet they would be money to ship.

DOC broke one of his pulling Sawred out in Wharton a few years ago..other than that...I have never seen one "break"

dang....i would have thought that the spindle would be indestructable.....i guess not!!!!! glad you noticed it before you drove it again!!

Well, I don't think Doc's spindle went, and I believe the CV just pulled apart from excessive angle with power applied (if I remember what he told me correctly).

Still, not fun.

No it was never rolled or in any on the road accidents. has a couple dents but all where on replaceable panels

Wait until tonight ill post pics of the differential that he tried to weld and actually REALLY it up. He did such a bad job welding not only did the welds break but he made it run peg leg people that dont know what they are doing should stay out of the garage or ask someone to help

Which differential did he try to weld? The front or the rear?

Ouch! What a way to ruin a perfectly good axle. That torsen will handle whatever you throw at it.

They sure did fortunately everything is somewhat easy to replace. Even more fortunately everything is replacable.

Uploading pics of how not to weld a torsen 31 spline diff. NOT that there is a good way but this is horrible alot of welds broke
