removing nightshade
 

i nightshaded my taillights the other night and put them back on like an hour later and ended up getting them dirty long story short you can see mud spots on em now so i wanna re do them is this possible?

probably going to have to sand it all off, then use like a 2000 grit pad to get em nice and smooth again. just a guess

any solvent should work...
paint thinner?

There are tons of ways you can get it off. Brake fluid will work and won't harm the plastic. Just be sure not to get it on any paint you don't want to take off.

Nail polish remover?

both will melt the plastic if not wiped off fast enough. thats how i melted my third brake light. i used some layout ink remover you should be able to find at an industrial supply shop. i just sprayed it on, picked up a rag and wiped it right off.

I've used WD40 to remove, will take a ittle effort , but it does work

Laquer thinner works.....but you gotta be sorta ontop of wiping it off so it doesn't eat into the plastic. I did this on a third brake light and a blue oval emblem.

Acetone(aka nail polish remover) WONT eat into it. It's a very common tool used to strip off the black 'paint' on ranger emblems.

LOL, got too excited to drive around with them on? Hey, we've all done something similar to that before. The key with painted parts is always let them fully dry!! LOL

Paint thinner didn't do anything for me. I wouldnt use lacquer thinner. I used it on my friend's third beake light and it ****ed it up and went through the plastic and after i re tinted them there are spider cracks everywhere and that was after wet sanding it trying to get it smooth again.
