Replacing tie-rods

Icon5 Replacing tie-rods

is there a how to for this? i hate messing with something i have never messed with until i have enough knowledge of whats all needed..
keep in mind i have never done anything but replace the brakes on it..anywho cvan anyone guide me on disassembly of the front end?

For tie rods, it's really easy.

Just losen the retaining nut and the castle nut. Then jack the truck up. Hit the tie rod shaft. It works like a charm for me. Not good for your inners, but ohhhhh well.

Then you just count your turns and take off the tie rod.

That may not have explained it well, but thats the easiest way.

the tie rods suck!

you dont need a pickle fork.

if you need to replace the inners, you will have to pull the rack or get the right tool from the dealer.

the outers are not bad.

heres a few pics of what i need to do..i saw the ripped boot on the inner part and iam parking my truck till its fixed..

so can that thing be regreased and rebooted? or do i have to take the whole damn thing apart
