Icon2 Is there a 5v wire anywhere in the truck wiring?

I am going to be installing a Bluetooth module that requires 5volts. I know everything that I've installed is 12v wires behind the dash and things like that, but do we have anything that puts out 5 volts?

It would save me time than trying to buy a 12v to 5v converter.

Thanks,
-Nigel

There's one under the hood that goes to the DPFE sensor. However your best bet is to use a dollar-store phone charger. tear it apart and use the board to take your 12v down to 5v.

Computer does have an internal 12v to 5v converter for sensor power and fuel gauge uses a pulsed 5v, but you should not use either of those.

Just get a converter.

Appreciate it, figured I'd try and save time...lol

I ended up finding a spare cig adaptor that I had from a previous bezel trim so I will just wire that up to a 12v source and plug the connector into that. Probably faster actually because I don't have to solder tiny *** wires on the bt device. And I can tuck everything behind the dash so no wires will be visible at all.

Thanks for the help!
