Runs rough

I have a 1987 ranger with a 2.9l. its been sitting for almost 8 years. I replaced fuel injectors as one was leaking, replaced spark plugs and wires with a new cap and rotor. Engine feels like a dead misfire since ive replaced all these parts. Would anyone have any clue as if i did something wrong or maybe got a bad fuel injector? Any advice would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks

Check firing order again and then one more time

You can disable spark and then crank engine over a few times then pull out spark plugs, all the tips should be WET with fuel if injectors are all working

1987 2.9l will use Batch Fire injection, not sequential injection, this means 3 injectors open at the same time every other revolution, 1 on one bank and 2 on the other
So non-working injector may or may not cause steady misfire, more likely to cause Pinging on one bank from lean mix

You probably should do compression test before anything else, otherwise you could just be wasting time and money on non-fixes

I had the truck running after it sat but one of the fuel injectors was spraying fuel out of the side of it. The engine was running ok with all the old parts in it. Since i replaced all it runs rough. ill double check timing and firing order. Thats why i wondered if i received a bad fuel injector. thanks

Anything "new" now-a-days is suspect, in my opinion

New used to mean "tested and working"

New now means "YOU test it and we will replace it if it doesn't work"

Ford uses Low OHM injectors, and you can test them with OHM meter, 11-20 ohms, but...........test at least 3 injectors because OHM meters aren't that good with ohms under 100, so if you test 3 and if the new one is way different that the other 2 then it is the problem
